Bil Donovan gave a demonstration to a full house at the Society of Illustrators last Thursday. The members of our WYRT Meetup group had a great time and really appreciated the instruction, exercises, and one-on-one guidance given by Bil. This demo consisted of understanding how to communicate the figure in 3 to 5 shapes. Bil sprung an unexpected request of me… he asked me to model. I was hesitant at first, I just wasn’t sure if I could hold a pose for 10 minutes. I know how I hate when models move in the middle of me drawing and I didn’t want to be ‘that guy.’ LOL. But then I said, “What the heck.” I did good and held the pose alongside Lydia, a real model.
What a great night!!! I really look forward to the next drawing session.
